Shiregreen residents aged 50 and over who would like to learn more about staying healthy as they get older are invited to a free course.
Supported by Sanctuary Housing, the Live Wise, Age Well project will take place at Shiregreen Neighbourhood Centre every Thursday for six weeks from 20 September, running from 2 until 4pm.
The sessions will be led by staff from the Drink Wise Age Well programme, an organisation encouraging older people to make healthy choices.
Each meeting will be focused on a different theme, including adjusting to changes that come with age and maintaining a healthy body and mind.
Melanie King, neighbourhood partnerships manager for Sanctuary, said: “We all go through life changes as we get older, whether that’s retirement, children leaving home or becoming a carer.
“This is a great opportunity for us to offer support to residents aged 50 and over in Shiregreen.”
To book one of the limited places on the course, call Drink Wise Age Well on 0800 032 3723.
This project is funded by Sanctuary’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects which benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.
