The Hackney Playbus will be pulling up to deliver new play sessions at Well Street Common thanks to support from Sanctuary Housing.
Sanctuary, Hackney Parochial Charities and Well Street Common User Group are funding the charity to deliver a series of free weekly sessions for children aged under five.
The colourful double-decker Playbus will be at the common, in Hackney, from 10am until noon every Thursday between 23 August and 29 November, offering a wide variety of indoor and outdoor play activities.
Hackney Playbus has been operating for more than 40 years, with the aims of bringing free play and learning opportunities to children across East London and offering support to families who need it the most.
While children play, parents and carers can get to know each other and speak to the Playbus team to find out more about the family support services available in their local area.
Claire Lindsay, of Hackney Playbus, said: “Our mission is to provide play, learning and support to socially excluded families in East London and we believe that all under-fives should share the same opportunities to grow and reach their potential.
“We’re delighted to be bringing the Playbus to Well Street Common and are very grateful for the support to make these new sessions possible.”
Toby Moore, Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, added: “Our aim is to ensure our residents live happy, healthy lives and we’re delighted to support the important work that Hackney Playbus carries out in our local communities.”
